Kevin IMURA Obituary

IMURA, Kevin Hiroshi
Beloved son of Edwin and Hong (Lisa) Imura, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2010. This Sacramento native was born on May 19, 1991. Kevin was called to the Lord suddenly, just as he was approaching the prime of his life. Kevin will be remembered as a dutiful and loving son. During his short life, he became a Boy Scout Eagle, graduated Kennedy High School, and worked full time while attending college. Kevin was a happy, respectful and well-mannered young man who was the pride of his parents. His exuberant spirit and zest for life will be missed by those whose lives he touched. Kevin was a gentle person whose kind nature will never be forgotten. He was taken from us much too soon, before he could fulfill his dreams and destiny. We love you, Kevin, and you will live on in our hearts forever. There will be a viewing on Fri., July 23, 12pm-8pm, at Andrews & Greilich Mortuary, 3939 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento (732-2026). Funeral services will be held at the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation, 9040 High Tech Ct, Elk Grove (391-6000), on Sat., July 24 at 1pm. The family respectfully requests that donations be made in Kevin's name to the Kevin Imura Scholastic Fund at the Bank of America, acct #16960-76848, (acct # provided on Thurs. was incorrect.)

Dear Ed and Hong,

Words can hardly express our feelings for your loss. The death of a child is especially devastating. Hopefully memories of all the good times you enjoyed together with Kevin will sustain you. As difficult as it is, I know God's healing hands are upon you. Take care and God bless.

Dear Ed and Hong,

It is with heartfelt sorrow that I learned about the passing of your beautiful son. I remember when he was born, and when he was at the daycare center at work. I loved hearing from Ed about what Kevin was doing at home and at school. I could always hear the pride and love in your voice whenever you spoke about Kevin. I never met Kevin as a young man, but I will always remember the beautiful little boy with the sparkling eyes and cute smile.

My prayers and thoughts are with you both.

My Dear Dear friend Ed and your lovely wife Hong. I share your grief and your pain. We lost our son Bruce just a few short months ago to a tragic senseless vehicle crash. These are very difficult and tumultuous times for you two as well as the rest of your family. Do your best to love, protect and care for each other. I am so honored to have been able to have met your son Kevin even for those few brief moments. Just know that our thoughts, love, and prayers are with you all.

Ed & Lisa, my heart goes out to you in this time of such great sorrow. I fondly remember Kevin and the other boys running around that soccer field. He may have been one of the smallest on the field, but he didn't back down. He was a wonderful child and always a positive influence on his friends. That influence will continue for many years to come as his friends reminisce. Kari, Derek, Alyssa and I send our love and prayers.

Kevin, I remember when I first met you I was like, "who is this baby working here"? Toulee was no longer the baby of the bunch. When we closed together & it was soooooo slow we would sit on the counter & always talk about my drama at my other job & COWS. lol You would always ask me, "Gramma, did you punch her yet?" You were too funny. I can still here you yelling "GRAMMA!" everytime I would walked in the door. Kevin, you were a joy to work with. Always made me laugh. Member I use to tell you that my little girls were very "church-ee". Well, they pray for you, your mom & dad every night since I told them that you past away. Lexie,(my 6 year old) says that your still here with us because your spirit is in heaven & she is right. I can honestly say I will truly miss you. You were taken way to soon. Even as a mom, I still can not imagine what your mother is going through. My prayers are with her every day as they are with your father. I will always remember our happy times at work & you calling me, (a 31 year old) "Gramma" :) Miss you Kevin!!!

July 22, 2010

Our family is devastated by the news of Kevin's passing. When my daughter was in kindergarten, she pointed out a classmate in their class photo and said "Mommy, this is Kevin and I think I falled into love with him". They spent alot of time together going to birthday parties, class field trips, skating rinks, etc. and they stayed friends every since that time. You couldn't help but like Kevin. Kevin was such a cute and adorable little boy who grew into a very likeable, intelligent, very well mannered and fun loving young man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ed and Hong our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are thinking about you and care about you and hope that every loving memory possible will help you endure this tragedy and give you strength in the days to come. Marquita, Rachel and Trevor
