Kim Krueger Obituary

Kim Margreta Ann Krueger
November 4, 2021
Carmichael, California - Daughter, wife, mother, and sister Kim Krueger passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, November 4, 2021, at home in Carmichael, CA with her lovely boys, Darrell and Cole, at her side. Kim was 63 years old.
Born in Oxford, England to Judith Jessup who married Armin Krueger in 1964 and who then adopted Kim. The family relocated to the United States where the US Air Force moved them frequently before settling in Carmichael, California in 1972. Kim graduated from La Sierra High School where she met her future husband, Darrell Daly. She attended Argonaut Court Reporting School and was eventually employed by the Sacramento County Superior Court. Kim finished her first career there as a manager for the court reporting and interpreting staff. She later returned to a career in court reporting after taking a long employment hiatus to raise her son.
After dating for several years, Kim and Darrell married in June of 1981. Together they enjoyed many outdoor activities including windsurfing, skiing, and in-line skating. In the past decade or so, they also took up kayaking, sailing, and biking, which led to many road trips pulling a trailer filled with their outdoor adventure equipment.
Above all, Kim was a loving mother of her son Cole who was born in 1995. She was very involved with Cole in his numerous extracurricular sports and activities be it volunteering to co-run the spring carnival at his grade school, being the everyday classroom helper, or being the head soccer coach of his team for 3 years. Cole is the fortunate recipient of his mother's love of reading and British sense of humor.
Kim and Darrell had some amazing trips together such as rafting and kayaking down the Colorado River, traveling through England, France, Denmark, Italy, and Canada as well as many trips to Hawaii. They also shared a passion for music and dancing. Their devotion to one another is something to be admired. They spent their 40th and final anniversary in Monterey Bay where they enjoyed good meals, long tandem bike rides, and above all spending time together.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother Judith Krueger (2011) and Kim's in-laws James (2012) and Mary Daly (2018). Kim is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Darrell Daly, son Cole Daly, father Armin Krueger, brother Dean (Karen) Fitzgerald, sisters Kathryn (Stephen) Branson and Kristen Krueger. Sisters-in-law Rosemary (Kevin) Jones and Jerri (Tom) Zakrzewski. Nieces and nephews, Naomi Fitzgerald, Paige and John Branson, Ryan (Tracy) Love, Adam Love, Zach Jones, Alex (Sylvia) Zakrzewski, Chris (Jamie) Jones, and Megan Jones. Grandnieces and nephews, Ava, Cody, Daisy, James, Kiley, Mila, and Millie.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Harry and Katie Whittlesey for their years of friendship to Kim and Darrell, and especially the tremendous support in the last few weeks of her life. No services are planned at this time.

I still miss Kim so much! I am also a court reporter, and I met Kim at Sacramento Superior Court, which is where we met, but above all, our connection was Oxford, as that is where my family is from! I have fond memories of the love she shared about her family, her husband and son. She is still and always in my heart.
