I sooooo miss Laddie at the Chateau when I visited my mom, Louise. She comments frequently too about missing her too. She always had such a sparkle in her eyes. Wish I had met her so much earlier I. Her life, but then so pleased to ha e gotten to know her at all !!! Jan Wadsworth

Laddie was born Adell Sylvia Marshack Oct. 12, 1923, in Chicago. She met Delaplane during WWII in San Francisco, memorialized in her novel "A Crowd of Lovers." They reconnected 30 years later at a book party marrying in 1979. He called her "the X-word puzzle girl," a tip of the hat to her lifelong dedication to solving crosswords.
Most of all we miss her.
