Mr. Bowen was my favorite and first male teacher for 6th grade at Pasadena Elementary in 1981/2?? He put together a Christmas play that we were in. Ten years later my sister had him maybe brother but in 1989 her gratefully attended my mothers funeral. I didn´t cry until I saw him in line to come in. He was very comforting and will never know how much I appreciated him. Thank you Larry.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Bowen's death. He was one of my all-time favorite teachers - 6th grade circa 1975 at Pasadena Elementary. I have so many fond memories of that year (and still have photos of Sly Park, ceramic pieces, and artwork and poetry).

Belatedly, I wish Mr Bowen's family peace and positive reflection on a wonderful man who lived his life well.
I was part of Mr Bowen's 6th grade class at Pasadena in 1984 or so. What an amazing teacher and man. I was a 'Latrobin' in the school play that he created and directed. and the memories of participating stay with me until this day. We loved learning from Mr Bowen on our trip to Sly Park was just amazing and life altering. I remember Mr Bowen showing old movies on Friday afternoons from his time in Alaska, and his beloved dog Major (I hope i remember the name correctly). THe time capsule at Pasadena, the rockingchair a thon! For me, he was the teacher that you remember throughout your life. I am sad to hear of Mr Bowen's passing but I remember him fondly. Mr Bowen affected my life for the positive and I draw on those experiences till this day.
RIP, good sir, and most importantly, thank you. Your legacy carries on in all of us!
