My dearest friend and sister Laura,
You have brought so much joy, inspiration, fun and laughter to my life and the lives of all you touched. I'll miss you terribly but know that you are alive in spirit and you live forever our hearts. I treasure every moment we spent together- whether a fabulous cruise or a glass of wine in the spa. I promise to care for Karyn and Michelle, and know they will be surrounded by many who love them dearly. You raised two daughters as beautiful as you in body and soul. Your memory is a bright shining star that glows forever and can never fade. Thanks for all you blessed me with, my life is fuller and more complete for having known you.
I love you, Annie

My dear, dear Laura - you inspired the best in people, and inspired me to log over 1000 miles training for and participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer these past three years. I started walking for YOU, and carried your name on my back, so that our girls won't have to go through what you did. You believed in the cure from that day in 2001 when you called to say you felt the bumps near your ear, and wondered where the tumor was going to be found. And every step of the way you smiled, believed in those who loved you, and encouraged us all to live life to the fullest. Karyn and Michelle are your greatest gift, and they will always carry your light inside them. We met when the girls were in kindergarten, and it was such a blessing to be counted among your friends. The last time we spoke, when you were so sick, you were still appreciative for all the blessings and everything wonderful about your life, so proud of your girls, so grateful to your family and friends, and so accepting of your next adventure. You had the BEST smile and laugh! We know we'll see you again, and we will always keep you and the girls in our hearts.

My Special and Dear Friend,
Words don't come easy. It was a blessing for me that we were able to rekindle our friendship a few years ago; one that began as kids in the ninth grade. You touched me deeply with your strong will to fight, your love and devotion to your two beautiful daughters, and how you dealt with this biggest of trials. Throughout, you were the pillar of strength. An example to everyone how to be a hero and a warrior, and at the same time maintain your good nature, your ability to give of yourself to others, and be the kind, loving, and generous person you always were. For having known you, I surely am a better person. To perhaps the kindest soul I've had the privilage to come to know in this life I say, take your rest now, your work is finished, and we ALL are better because of your time with us. You beautiful, beautiful girl. Thank you for sharing Laura Kay, thank you so much!

To Laura's Family:
We were friends in high school, and though we had not seen each other for many, many years we did email for too brief a time. I still see her as a sixteen year old girl with a huge smile and a lot of old 45s we used to play in her bedroom. My prayers are with all of you and my heart is full of the friend I had in Laura.

Laura,
I only had one conversation with you and it was a short time before you passed. The conversation left a life time impression on me. We talked about our girls(they have the same name) and the concerns of parenting. While we talked I felt such a great sense of caring from you that I told several people what a wonderful conversation I had with a parent of my daughters friend. I feel blessed to have had the privilege to share that little time with you. My prayers are with you and your family.
