Manhattan Beach, California - Lauren Patricia Cavanagh was born in Sacramento, California, at Sutter Hospital on September 9, 1982, the only child of Claire M Buckey and the late Thomas J Cavanagh of Sacramento.
Growing up in Sacramento, Lauren attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic elementary and middle school. She was a 2000 graduate of St. Francis Catholic girls' high school. Lauren went on to attend Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, graduating and earning a business degree in 2004.
Lauren began her career as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services shortly after graduating from college. In 2010, she moved on to her prized employment with JP Morgan Chase, based in Manhattan Beach, California. During Lauren's 13 years of employment with Chase, she rose to the position of Senior Vice President - Financial Advisor, earning the Award for Excellence six times and earning the prestigious SVP award in 2020. Lauren's clientele numbered in the 300s in the South Bay Area and across the country. As one of her co-workers related, Lauren "was a beloved member of the Manhattan Beach community and seemed to know everyone. Her clients loved walking into the branch just to say hello, hear about her latest trip(s), or get tips on the best restaurants to visit in LA." Lauren's friends and relatives can attest to her love of good food and wanting to share that appreciation with anyone who wanted to accompany her in the pursuit of restaurant excellence. Lauren was also known for her appreciation of foreign travel and many interesting experiences during those journeys.
Lauren was a joy to be around during the holidays and social occasions, generous to a fault and always ready to have fun.
Lauren passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2023. She is survived by her beloved mother, Claire; great aunt, Elizabeth Helfrich; aunts, Ann Marshall (Jeff) and Michele Vinson; uncles, Daniel Buckey, David Buckey (Pamela), and William Buckey; and numerous cousins.
A funeral Mass will be said for Lauren on March 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church located at 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA, with a reception to follow.
