LaVerne MUENTER Obituary

MUENTER, LaVerne Jansen LaVerne passed away unexpectedly October 22, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Sacramento on January 19, 1929 to Fritz and Henrietta Inderkum Jansen. Laverne graduated from McClatchy High School in 1947 and UC Berkeley in 1951. She graduated with a Bachelors of Art, this was the beginning of her love of art for her entire life. She met her husband Ron Muenter at Cal, they married in 1951. She was very active in the community serving on the boards of the Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, and the Junior League of Sacramento. She met and enjoyed many life long friends from her early volunteer years. She was very active in the UC Women's club, playing in their bridge club for over 50 years. She loved playing bridge, and enjoyed hosting many bridge games. After graduation from Berkeley, she worked for Scofield's Furniture as an Interior Designer. She owned her own interior design firm, LaVerne Interiors for many years. She always enjoyed creating and designing for her many clients. After family, her second love was for the SF Giants, Cal Bears Football, and the 49er's. She was an avid fan of these teams, and they brought her many hours of enjoyment. LaVerne is survived by her three children, Christine Rodvold (Roger), Ron Muenter (Patti), and Rich Muenter (Teri). She loved her three grandchildren, Brian, Jessica and Austin Muenter. Her children would like to invite you to celebrate her life with a memorial on November 8th, from 1-3 pm at 4306 Valmonte Drive, Sacramento. Chris, Rich & Ron - our thoughts are with you and your families at this sad time. We'll miss her energy and the times we had to chat with her at her home and around the pool on Topp Court - the three of you were always first & foremost in her mind. Loren & Gaye

Justin & I had the pleasure of sharing time with LaVerne at my jewelry store when she would come in and have her items repaired, cleaned, get something new, come to my parties, bring her friends & support me in a loving way. She loved jewelry which was, I think, part of her creativity coming through. She always spent time chatting about her travels, her art and her love of her family. I admired that she had so much spunk, that she loved her outings, her friends and was very social. She was always telling her friends & family to visit me because she loved my store, she loved us and wanted me to succeed. I was very Blessed to have met her, she was loved and we will miss her.
I send love & condolences to her family & friends. RIP LaVerne, give Mom a hug for me, one more bright light in Heaven above
