HUSSEY, Lawrence 'Mac'
Mac was born June 15, 1945 in Hilo, Hawaii and passed on November 8, 2011 after a four-year battle with cancer. He died at home in Elk Grove with family by his side.
After receiving his degree as a CRNA, Mac enlisted and served in the Army's 93rd Evac Squadron as a Lieutenant in Vietnam. Upon his return he enjoyed an 18-year career in medicine while obtaining his degree in Anesthesiology. His subsequent career was as a partner in Action Environmental Management Services where he was well respected as a Certified Asbestos Consultant/Industrial Hygienist.
Mac will be remembered as an 'awesome Dad' and Grandpa. He was a dear friend, avid golfer, softball player, baseball fan and an accomplished musician. Above all he loved his family and the 'spirit of ohana.'
Mac leaves behind his wife Janice, his children Michele (David), Lawrence 'Sonny' (Lt.Col, USMC) (Cathy), Debbie (Eric), Michael, and Sarah. He will be missed by his brothers, James Jr. (CSM, USA-Ret), Leonard, Adrian and sister, Frances. Grandchildren include Andrew, Nicholas, Lawrence 'Mac,' Melissa, Evelyn, and Ava. He was preceded in death by his parents MaryAnn Higa and James Hussey, his sister Aileen, and granddaughter Olivia.
Mac's Aloha Spirit will always be remembered!!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
Celebration of Life to be held Dec. 17, 2011, 11AM at Laguna Town Hall, 3020 Renwick Ave., Elk Grove, CA 95758.
