Leonard Pollacchi Obituary

2018 Len returned to his Heavenly Father on February 2, 2018. Born to Nello and Brunetta Pollacchi on March 12, 1942 in Scotland, raised in England, he and his parents immigrated to Sacramento in 1951. He became an American citizen in 1965 and proudly served our country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. 6th & 8th Army Bands at the Presidio in San Francisco, and in Seoul, Korea. He was the beloved husband of Dona, the proud father of sons Christopher (wife Shannon) and Andre, and cherished Papa of Sophia and Lucas Pollacchi. He lived passionately sharing abiding love for his family and friends, his enormous musical talents, teaching for 40 years, Italian heritage, cars, motor-cycles, World War II history, gadgets, model building, jazz and his deserved reputation as "the best bass player in town". Len's "life goes on in endless song". A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Church, 660 Florin Road, Sacramento 95831. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Jenna & Patrick Foundation of Hope www.JPFH.org. Thank you very much for your kind generosity.

I am so sorry for your loss. From 1965 thur 1968. We were brothers. We bought did everything together during our Army service; induction, auditioned, Basic Training Navy school of Music, Presidio of San Franciso, Drove the Army Band Bus, "Chicken Delight" delivery in the Marina District. Len was a wonerful and caring guy. If our Lord has a Band, I know he would be playing Bass.
God Bless You and Your Family

Mr. P will be deeply missed by many- he touched all of us during band class at McClatchy high school. His firm but gentle manner inspired all of us. My family will pray for him and the Pollacchi family.

He was my high school music teacher -jazz and marching band at C.K. McClatchy. A great teacher and an even better man.

Mr. P. Was my band teacher at McClatchy back in the mid eighties. He was adored by everyone. He was fair and funny and compassionate. He always had time for me. My condolences to his family. He was loved and will be missed something awful.
