Oh boy, I think everyone she hung out with for a while became a "buddy" to Linda. She was frank, listened well, smart, and loved the jazz and ragtime music she sought by volunteering and taking good care of her charges and and the audience. Very social, we've had several meet-ups just to have a meal together, often at her house (a special treat, especially when Lynn was at the BBQ. She was a sharpy and always good and comfortable company, and a good observer (interested and, herself, interesting). There are a lot of people now who are missing Linda's welcome presence. Good goin', kiddo.

I knew Linda from my many years of attending the West Coast Ragtime Festival. She was the one to ask where things were and to have a chat on the way to the next presentation. She dedicated herself to helping all attendees and missed most of the concerts herself. Sometimes she could be seen coming in a side door just to hear the last strains of a special performance. We felt very supported by her volunteering each year and she made our time there all the more special. I am so sorry she won't be sitting at her post when I arrive this year...but hope she is having a very happy hereafter! Perhaps she can have a nice chat with my husband, Jeff Stone, who passed 8 years ago after we attended the Ragtime Festival for 20 years together. He also volunteered, doing sound his last year there. Like Linda, I enjoyed my husband's children and grandchildren who have become my family now! Linda will be missed by all of the Ragtime family!
