I knew I had a wonderful uncle but after reading about him I learned I really didn't know everything about him. I was always amazed by his beautiful yard in Albany--wonderful grapes and delicious cherries, and then I walked into paradise in his backyard in Folsom! I feel privileged to have known such a wonderful man and to be his niece. I will miss his sweet smile and him teasing in his cute French accent. My prayers and thoughts are with you, Aunt Claire, and to my cousins. Love, Kiki and family

Although it saddens me that I wasn't able to spend more time with Lucien, for me, his memory will live on, just as his flowers continue to return year after year. I always loved walking through his garden, eating fruit off the trees, and listening to him talk about his plants, like they were friends of his that he had longstanding relationships with. I will miss him dearly, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew him.

What I will always remember most about Grandpa is our woodworking projects. Everything I know he taught me, and almost all the tools I have he found for me at garage sales. I was 10 and we were building a chair one day, and we had put it together and stained it, but I wanted to put arms on it and he didn't. I agreed with him, but then a little part of grandpa awoke in me, and I snuck into the garage in the middle of the night and put them on. I love you Grandpa. Ryan

"Breath in, hold your breath, let half out and squeeze the trigger."
I have always remembered Lucien saying these words to me as I learned to shoot. While I have not been an active shooter for some time, when I do get the occasional chance his advice is still helping me. However, I owe more than just learning shoot to Lucien. He taught me much about life and how to be good person.
As a friend of our family Lucien help my grandmother and was always there to lend a hand, an ear, a great story and even better joke. For that my family has always been grateful.
Mrs. Lessard, Ginette, Luc, Francine, Pierre and Louise please accept my deepest sympathy on Luciens passing. While not here amongst us in body, he will always be here in spirit and will live on in the values he gave to all of you and his grandchildren.

I think that God needed help with his garden so he called Lucien. He had ten green fingers and was always planting or fixing something. I'll remember him as a humble man of many accomplishments and adventures. He seemed happiest when he got a good deal on something or was able to grow something challenging. He will be sorely missed by me and those who knew him.

I remember Mr. Lessard when I had the honor of being the best man at his daughter Louise’s wedding: After taking several steps down the aisle toward the altar, Louise said aloud, “Where is my Father?”
“Oh!” came the reply, as a man in a white tuxedo leaped to his feet. Lucien was sitting with Claire in the audience enjoying the sights and surroundings of this beautiful wedding. Amidst our smiles, he leaped out of his chair and scampered to complete his duty of escorting his daughter to the altar.

Aunt Claire and to all the family
After reading Uncle Lucien’s obituary I wish I had gotten to know Uncle Lucien a lot more! What an amazing life he has lead.
From what I read Uncle Lucien had a nature you could not help loving, and a heart that was purer then gold. To those of you who knew and loved him, his memory will never grow cold.
My deepest sympathies are being sent to you all!

It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.
With Loving Memories of my dear Uncle Lucien
