Manuel Camacho Obituary
Manual Perry Camacho, a resident of Elk Grove for nearly 46 years, passed away on March 20, at the age of 83.
He was born in Rio Vista, CA on November 9, 1930, to the late Joseph and Adeline Camacho. Manuel graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1950 and shortly after graduation joined the U.S. Navy where he served in San Diego. Following his military service, he received his Associate of Arts degree from Sacramento City College.
He worked for California Department of Transportation, retiring in 1994, after 37 years of employment. During his life he enjoyed volunteering for St. Joseph's Parish in Elk Grove and Loaves and Fishes. He also cherished is moments traveling to the state and national parks with his family.
Manuel was preceded in death by his sister Diane Dearwester.
Manuel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy, his three children; Gary Camacho of Colorado, Mary and husband George Rettele of Elk Grove, and Norma Camacho of Sacramento; grandchildren Rhiannon Meit, Christopher Camacho, Ryan Chapman, Lorena and Bryan Rettele; great grandchild, Cinjin; and brother Joseph Camacho of Rio Vista.
A vigil is secluded for Wednesday, March 26 at 7:30 in Herber ger's Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove CA and mass is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9961 Elk Grove Florin Road, Elk Grove CA.
