Marian Nishimoto Obituary

Born on April 30, 1917 in Lincoln, California. Passed away peacefully on January 24, 2010 in Auburn, CA. Preceeded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hugo, son Herbert, and granddaughter Laurie Ann. Survivors include children Bill (Joan) of Sunnyvale; Ed (Ayako) of San Francisco; Barbara of Corpus Christi, Texas; Ted (Michiko) of Auburn; Bob (Joanie) of Sacramento; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Marian was a lifelong resident of Placer County. She and Hugo were married in 1934. They lived in Lincoln before being interned in the Tule Lake Relocation Center. They later resettled in the Newcastle/Ophir area and ran the family fruit orchard. Marian loved growing flowers and watching Japanese videos, Oakland A's baseball games, and the Sacramento Kings basketball games. She was active in the Placer Buddhist Church, flower arranging, and Women's Association. Granny will be missed by her family. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Placer Buddhist Church, 3192 Boyington Road in Penryn, California. Services January 30 2010 2:00 p.m.
