Sacramento, California - "Your wings were ready but our hearts were not"
Marilyn June Galleher Thompson passed away on October 8, 2023 at the age of 91 years old.
Marilyn was born on 8/15/1932 in Port Clinton, OH to Mable and Charles Galleher, who preceded her in death. She married Donald H. Thompson on 2/27/1954 and had four children before his death in 1968. She moved to Ojai, CA with her children and worked as a medical biller at Ojai Valley Hospital for many years. Upon retirement, she moved to Sacramento, CA where she enjoyed getting together with friends at Carefree to play games and card, until her death.
Marilyn is survived by her siblings Roscoe "Sam" (Sandy), Jean and Patricia; children Joanna, Charles "Chuck" (Leslie), and Patricia; grandchildren Carrie, Barbara, Jennifer, Jeremy (Ayla), Hannah and Christopher; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many friends and family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Alice, son Jeffrey, and grandson Michael.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (924 San Juan Road, Sacramento) on November 10th at 11:00am. Internment will be held in the spring/summer at Catawba Island Cemetery in Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
