Mary Revering Obituary

REVERING, Mary Rose
Mary passed away peacefully shortly before her 71st birthday, surrounded by her husband, children and close friends, on June 4, 2009. Mary was born on June 8, 1938, in Sacramento, CA and lived in Carmichael most of her life. She met the love of her life, Buddy, in 1953, and they were married in 1956, during her senior year at McClatchy High School. She and Bud celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last January 28th. Mary always dreamed of a large family, and realized that dream, having five children who were her pride and joy. She loved to cook and entertain. She was well-known for hosting large family gatherings with an attention to detail and always plenty of food and fun. Besides cooking, her many interests included sewing, antiquing, canning, reading, and traveling; but perhaps her most infamous talent was playing lowball and later, Texas Hold 'Em, winning many pots and tournaments over her long and illustrious ''career''. Mary is survived by her husband, August ''Bud'' Revering; sons, Steven and Gerald Revering; daughters, Sharon Carlson (Dave) and Tricia Franzblau (John); sister Eileen Morin (Paul); brother Don Kavaloski; grandchildren, Eric Revering, Merissa and Brandon Revering, Matthew, Lauren and Chad Carlson, Emma and Max Franzblau; great-grandchild Julianna Ramoz; step-grandchildren, Rachelle Marshall (BJ), and Jason Carlson (Mary); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, step-great-grandchildren, and other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances Kavaloski, and her beloved son, James Joseph Revering. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Wed. June 10 at 7pm at Lind Brothers Mortuary, 4221 Manzanita Ave. in Carmichael. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thurs. June 11 at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5751 Locust Ave., Carmichael. Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Dear Jerry and Family:

Our prayers are with you during this sad time. We feel blessed to have gotten to know your mother even though it was only for a brief period of time. She always made us feel welcome and she was a joy to talk to. May your memories of her always keep close to your hearts.

Dear Bud and Family,
My heart goes out to you all with my deepest condolences in the loss of Mary. Mary was taken too soon from us all. She was one of my favorite cousins. She was a very special and remarkable women with a heart of gold. She was a master at planning fun parties right down to the smallest detail and nothing was better than her fabulous meals. I have always admired how she didn't care what anyone thought of her and just lived life to its fullest. I will always cherish the wonderful memories of all of our wonderful visits and trips we've taken. I too, as I know you all, will greatly miss her. Mary will always be remembered as my "Crazy Cousin Mary" which is how she signed all her emails. May all the wonderful family memories comfort you all and know that you all have a Special Guardian Angel looking over you now. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Love Jen

To Bud and the family-
We offer our sympathy for your loss. Six years ago we met and visited you and Mary Rose in your home. Jen (Kavaloski) told us how it would go - a delicious home-cooked meal with plenty of visiting and catching up on the family. She was right, and we sure enjoyed our time meeting you, and also Paul and Eileen. We hope that your faith, family and memories will be a comfort to you all, today, and in the future.
Sincerely,
John & Jennifer Kavaloski and kids - Rebecca, Joel, Clayton
