Dear Bumpus family,
My heart and prayers are with all of you during this time of horrible sadness.
I didn't know Matt, but having gone through the loss of my 21 year old son 4 years ago, I know the heartache that loss causes. I lead a grief support group in Roseville, if you need someone to talk to feel free to contact me.
Please know that you will be in my heart and prayers throughout the next few days, weeks and months.

Matt had a laugh and smile that would make anyone feel like they were the funniest person in the world. That is one of my found memories I have from high school that Matt and I shared. May your laugh and smile light up the heavens.

Matt... A wonderful person, friendly and accepting of all people he met. Courageous, selfless, strong. A proud husband and father. I'm so honored to have known him...His spirit lives on in two handsome boys.

To Matt's family,
I was lucky enough to go to high school with Matt and I can only say the kindest things about him. I lost my Dad this past September to the same aggressive form of leukemia as Matt. One week he was here and 7 days after being diagnosed we lost him. I have faith that Matt is now at peace and no longer suffering, as I know what a terribly painful illness it is. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless.

Bumpus family- I knew Matt in high school and remember his bright smile walking through the halls. His bout with cancer was a tough one and one I kept an eye on after beating mine two years ago. Please know that he will always be in our hearts and prayers. My condolences to his wife and children and imidiate family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Matthew but I just wanted to say that he truly is a hero for his service to this great nation. We have lost another Army brother. I'm sure he is smiling down upon all of us in heaven. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. He will not be forgotten.

To the Entire Bumpus Family,
I only knew Matt through my mom Di who worked with Jo at EDI. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time. I know you all worked very hard to find a cure for this horrible disease that took Matt. May God bless you, protect you and give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Matt - May you rest in peace. You are a true HERO who fought for our freedom and protection. You are now in heaven with your Lord and He has received you as an angel to still protect and watch over all of us from above. Thank you Matt.
