My thoughts are with you.I'm sorry I never knew Matt but I'm Nicks cousin. Nick talked about his friends and how he enjoyed every moment he spent with them. He spoke often Jesuit. My sympathy is with your whole family, and their schoolmate.

My greatest sympathy goes out to the Walas family. I can only imagine the pain that you may be going through right now. I attended your son's funeral today and I joined the many people who knew him. I go to St. Francis and I wasn't a friend, but this past year I talked to him once on accident because I mistakenly thought he was someone else I knew, but he was cool with it. I've never had anyone close to me die so I don't know exactly how it feels to lose someone, but this is close enough. I, too, was touched by this accident that occurred. My heart is with the Walas, Cremins, Andersen, Goudberg family. I'm sorry for your loss. *

To the family and friends of Matt.....
Please know that the community mourns with you. We mourn the loss of a wonderful person that would have been an asset to the world.
We don't know you, but we shed tears for your loss and we pray that you will find the strength, somehow, to get through this most horrible of times. Try to remember that Matt will live on in the hearts of all who ever knew him.

To Matt & his family: I did not have the pleasure of knowing you, but as a JHi alum, it feels like I did know you all. I am so sorry over the passing of your son, Matt. You have the pleasure of knowing that Matt is enjoying the eternal gift of life in heaven. I have known a few people (from my old elementary school and from JHi) who have died over the years. It is tough. It is sad. But I know with your strength, the community's strength and support, and God's unending love, we will overcome this terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all...

To the Walas Family,
I did not have the pleasure of knowing your son, but I have a Jesuit High School Graduate, Class of 1996. I will keep you all in my prayers and know that no matter what, Jesuit High School students, staff, clergy, and alumni will always keep Matthew in their prayers. He sounds like a remarkable young man and God must have a special plan for him in heaven.
