September 5, 1945 - February 21, 2023
Carmichael, California - Mike passed away Tues., Feb. 21, 2023, at the age of 77. Born in Seattle, Wash., Mike held a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Washington and a master's degree in business administration from USC. Mike was a Vietnam veteran serving more than 21 years as an electronic warfare officer in the United States Air Force. After retiring, Mike worked for Northrop Grumman defense. In 2006, Mike began working at the California Highway Patrol, retiring in 2022.
Mike is survived by wife Donna, daughter Kristi and her husband Sean Mattes, and grandson Wyatt. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Paul Larson, and brother and sister-in-law Scott and Patricia Gordon.
Mike was a member of the University Masonic Lodge (Seattle), Scottish Rite, Sons of Norway, Carmichael Elks Lodge, and Sacramento Suburban Kiwanis (past president).
Services will be held at the Fair Oaks Cemetery on Tues., March 7 at 11 a.m.; reception following at the Carmichael Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis Family House, California State Railroad Museum Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

Mike was a great storyteller. I could sit and listen to him all day if time had permitted. He loved his family very much and spoke of them often. Rest In Peace Mike.gone to soon.

Mike will be missed. He gave back to his community especially the children. He had a big heart and was always there with a helping hand. My condolences to Donna and the entire family. Rest in peace my friend.
