West Sacramento, California - Michael Guzzi of West Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones, on December 17 after a short battle with cancer. Mike was born to Nick and Darlene Guzzi in Sacramento on September 14, 1959. He was the oldest of three siblings. After graduating from Mira Loma High school, Mike went on to begin a 30-year career with the State of California. It began at DGS and he continued on to become an Analyst/Consultant with the 9-1-1 Telecom Division, where he found his passion for all things PSAP, CLEC, LEC related and was a proud member of NENA and the California 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Office.
In 1991, Mike married the love of his life, JoAnne and while they had no children together, they continued raising his daughter, Aubrae. In 2010, Mike retired and spent his time traveling, golfing and fishing as well as remaining a die-hard 'Oakland' Raider fan. Those who knew Mike knew how passionate he was about life – he never did anything half-way.
Michael Guzzi was preceded in death by parents Nick, Darlene and his younger sister, Pamela Guzzi. His daughter Aubrae, his brother Joe, nephew Dominic, and niece Morgan survive him.
A funeral service in memory of Michael will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave. Citrus Heights. Visitation begins 11:00am with service to follow at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, an organization Mike felt strongly about.

Mike had a trophy for hitting a golf ball 375 yards. He was the best golfer at DGS. Perhaps all State Agencies. He would play around of golf with the Pro´s, and after 18 the Pro´s threw their clubs in the trunk of car and sped away. Thanks for the golf lesson and humor, I painted Mike and Joanne home, Mike keep me in stitches.

Mike,
I miss you & "Pa" & hope you are having a good time together again too. There are so many memories of our Telecom/State family that I know I will cherish forever. Boy, you could sure "push my buttons", but I loved you just the same.
My deepest condolences to you Aubrae, Joe & family.
And Mike, I hope you rest in eternal peace now.
