Michael Pierce Obituary

Michael Lee Pierce

October 21, 1957 - December 8, 2024

Citrus Heights, California - On December 8, 2024, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away. Michael Lee Pierce was born on October 21, 1957, to Jack and Gwendolyn Pierce.

He grew up in Santa Clara, California, and proudly graduated from San Jose State University. He met the love of his life, Joanne, in 1980, and they have been partners in crime ever since. In their 43 years of marriage, they raised their three children: Tyler (Shannon), Evan (Megan), and Alison, who gifted them with the true loves of their lives, their grandchildren: Chloe, Hayden, Stevie, and Keagan.

Mike had a long and successful career as an account executive in media sales. As a lifelong 49ers, Warriors, and Giants fan, Mike loved watching his teams and visited every Major League Baseball ballpark, trying to attend only when the Giants were playing. He had a love for music and enjoyed making playlists for every occasion, especially for Sunday night dinners with his family. Mike also loved traveling with his wife and exploring the world.

Mike is survived by his sister Karla Pierce, along with many loving extended family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held in January. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity.

Miss you old friend. As we grow older, year by year, our large group of friends from Santa Clara are beginning to thin out. Aging and then death will eventually take us all. Gatherings are not the same without your presence. A big smile, a few jokes and enthusiasm galore traveled with you.
RIP Mike.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I met Mike when his daughter was in my 6th grade class at John Barrett Middle School. I remember him as full of life and fun. I hope that your many fond memories bring you comfort.

Jo, Tyler, Evan and Ali, please receive my sincere and heartfelt condolences.

I was so saddened to learn of Mike's unexpected passing yesterday. Anyone who knew Mike realized immediately that he had a very big presence. He was the unofficial mayor of our street and the guy we knew who would enforce the rules. I will never forget his dry wit, and his dedication to his family. You are all in my thoughts during this difficult time.

I will always remember the first time I met Mike. I just relocated to Sacremento and didn't know anyone yet. I had taken my dogs to Brooktree park for a run and ran into Mike while he was walking his dog Angus. We immediately hit it off, as did our dogs! Those that live in our memories are never truly gone.
