Hi I don't know you or Michael... I was looking for another MR on this site. But I read about your son and I wanted to write and say how moved I was by your description of your son... and how special it was, that the finest thing his friends could do was to remember him by giving a Michael hug to a loved one. I cannot imagine your grief. I wish you strength and hope, despite your loss.

Mike is the best type of person anyone could know. The most kind and gentle person. A friend to everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. I had the privilege and honor of meeting Mike when we played for the Rocklin Predators at the age of 13. It has been some time now since we have last crossed paths but I know when we did nothing would change because that's the type of person Mike is. The best type of person. You will be missed big fella and never forgotten. I look forward to our next meeting and that Big Mike hug. RIP my friend. My prayers go out to the Thomas family.

Mike was such a great human being. He didn't have to do anything extraordinary for people to be drawn to him. He never tried to be the center of attention, but the center of attention was always where he was. People felt good just being around him. In Baseball, he had the rare ability to have his teammates love him (even those competing with him for a position) I was fortunate enough to have coached him and to have both my sons play with him. He raised the bar for my expectations on how a true teammate acts. The Murray family is deeply saddened by this loss, but thankful for having known Mike and the positive influence he had on our lives.
God Bless Mike's family and frinds that love him so.

I met Big Mike through work a lil over a year ago. We all called him Hercules. He was literally the quietest guy in our department and definitely one of the hardest workers. He was always talking Giants baseball. Mike was a great dude to talk to and work with. He was always in a good mood and smiling. The world would be a better place if there were more "Big Mike's" in it. My prayers go out to the Thomas family.

I had the privilege of working with Mike in baseball and he was a very dedicated kid with a great attitude. I always looked forward to seeing him each week. He was also a friend of our kids and he was considered part of the family. Eric and Lisa Vorbeck and the Nunn kids.

Mike will be greatly missed by our family. His positive outlook on life and great personality will always be remembered. Mike would make time to help our boys with baseball and always had positive encouragement for them. We could always count on Mike to lend a helping hand.
We love you, Mike. You will be forever missed, and forever remembered.
Our condolences to Mark, Kelly and Mary.

Mike was an awesome guy all around. He never faulted from his integrity, commitment, and overall warm-heartedness. He was very highly thought of around these parts, and will always continue to be. I personally have heard people refer to him as an "All-Star", "Super-Star", and it was also said, "if more people could be like Mike, this place would be a far better place to be." He was always first in line to help someone in need, took great pride in doing his job to the level of excellence each and every day, and was one of the most humble people I have ever met. I know that he will be greatly missed, and that everyone that knew him here is deeply saddened by his passing. There have already been many heartfelt moments that people have shared about Mike and just how he was just a completely wonderful person. We all loved him very much!
My heart goes out to his entire family, especially his daughter, who hopefully some day, can read these people's thoughts about her Dad, and know that he was truly an awesome guy to everyone here. My heart also feels deeply for his sister Kelly, who wrote the absolutely heart wrenching obituary. Kelly, know that many many many of us here are thinking about you and hope that somehow each day might get easier for you, because we love you too! Lastly, to the rest of his family and loved ones, sending light and love your way. Truly.

Our family was greatly saddened by the passing of Mike. Our paths crossed some 13 years ago and we got quite close to Mike and were fortunate to watch him grow up and mature. Our son and Mike played a lot of baseball together and spent great times with him and his father, Mark.
Our sympathy goes out to his family and may God bless them.

Big Mike and I met in the 6th grade and I can still remember the laughs we had that first year and all the ones years later. He had the most contagious laugh! He truly was the nicest guy I have ever met. Big Mike had a heart of gold and we were all so lucky just to know him. I will forever miss, but always remember all the Giants games we attended, dance parties we created and singing along to "Boys of Summer". He was one of kind, and truly adored by everyone that knew him. My sincerest sympathies are with his family and all of his friends.

My baaaaabe. He was beyond this world... Truly one of a kind. Extraordinary and booming with contagious enthusiasm and laughter. Nobody could ever make me so happy and laugh as much as he did. He was a kind, gentle and sensitive soul. I have learned so much from him. One thing he mentioned often. The golden rule. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. Because what goes around comes around. I witnessed him in action. Treated everyone he knew or even didnt know with extreme kindness. He would talk to strangers foorever as if they were a childhood buddy... Id look at him astonished and he'd just say..."Communications major...ahhh" Like the sound you made after a refreshing beverage. He touched the hearts of many. Especially mine. I will cherish the countless memories I have with this man forever. He is without a doubt the most special person I have ever met.

My deepest condolences go out to Mark and family. I will always cherish the times watching the kids of Rocklin grow up together. The last time I saw Mike it was about 4 years ago at family fitness he looked great and was just a sweetheart of a guy. Mike when I heard the news of you're passing it was a shock to say the least our family will certainly miss you but you will always live on in our memories of you. Gods speed big man

I have known Mike since the 1st grade and we lived on the same street for over ten years. Many memories of sharing stupid jokes or ridiculous stories as we either rode the bus or walked home together. I'd get a kick out of how proud he was in how many pizzas he had eaten and in return, he'd always enjoy what insane Halloween costumes I'd come up with. It's moments like these that I'll cherish forever. He will be missed greatly. My dearest sympathies to the Thomas family.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of one of the most genuine and truly caring people I have ever met. Mike & I were neighbors and attended RHS together but it wasn't until after highschool that I began to get to know the Mike Thomas that everyone knew and loved. Although our time spent together was short, I will always remember how much fun Mike was to be around, how hard he would make me laugh, and how much we discovered we had in common. He was a special soul & will be greatly missed. My thoughts and are with him and his family.
