Mildred Wick Obituary

WICK, Mildred L.
It was early evening May 1, 2007, while surrounded by family, God came, took Millie by the hand and told her it was her time to go with Him. She loved God and obeyed. She was 79 having been born on October 8, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Eldon and Linnea Burdick. She leaves her loving and devoted husband, Neil; son, Dan and wife, Lori and daughter, Lynnae and husband, Richard. She had 3 grandsons and one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. She had 2 brothers and one sister, all living in Minnesota, and one sister here in Carmichael. She and Neil met at a VFW party in which they were very active. He at once knew she was his to keep. After a 2-year courtship, they were married in May 1951 and moved to Sacramento shortly after. They bought a home and became members of their community. They joined Carmichael Presbyterian Church in 1952 and have been active ever since. She taught Sunday School in the old days. She was a Mason "Eastern Star" before they knew each other. Neil later joined the Masonic Lodge. They both became active in the Shriners and spent 32 years with the Shrine Chanters doing much traveling with them. She loved to travel. She read constantly, enjoying Westerns mostly. She helped organize 2 school libraries years ago. She became a helper in the Shrine Hospital library in Sacramento when it first opened. She and Neil were regular volunteers there for 10 years. Millie was a spark plug in the family. She kept them alive and happy, but God came and said they'd had her long enough and took her with Him. A memorial will be held at the Carmichael Presbyterian Church, 5645 Marconi Ave on Saturday, May 26 at 11am. Please come! Remembrances may be made to the Shrine Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento 95817.

Mom,
I love you and miss you incredibly!
I can't wait to visit you in your new mansion! Perhaps we will soon meet in the clouds when the trumpet blasts on the day of the Lord.
I've got great things to look forward to.
