Milorad Gavric Obituary

Born on November 15, 1929 in Stitar, Serbia (Former Yugoslavia), Milorad Gavric lived a long life of adventure, friendship and love. He concluded his earthly journey to join friends and family in the afterlife on January 10, 2011. Milorad is survived by his wife Nada, daughters Mirjana (Marko Markovic), Natalie (James Speer), and Elizabeth, and his grandchildren James and Evan. Milorad was a lively spirit who enjoyed spending time with friends and family, cooking and working in his garden. From his humble beginnings in Serbia, Milorad forged his life's path with great personal strength and determination that lead him to Croatia, Italy, France and Canada before he packed up the family and drove across the United States in search of the California dream. He settled with his family in the Sacramento area in 1976. Milorad will always be remembered for his tremendous love of family and friends, his contagious joie de vivre and the great joy he brought to all those who knew him. Milorad's viewing will be held at the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Assumption at 7777 Sunset Avenue, Fair Oaks, at 6 PM on Monday, January 17. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday January 18 at 11 AM, immediately followed by his burial at Fair Oaks Cemetery at 7780 Olive Street, Fair Oaks.
