Moses Auwae Obituary

Moses Auwae, affectionately known as Mr. Moe and Uncle Moe, 95, of Roseville, passed away on June 17, 2017. He was born to Mary and William Auwae Sr. in Lahaina, Maui on June 6, 1922, the 5th of 16 children. In 1939 Uncle Moe joined the army and after 22 years of service, retired with an honorable discharge. He was married to the love of his life, Patricia, on October 4, 1969. Together they raised two children, Janet and Moke. Uncle Moe worked for the SJUSD for 27 years before he retired at the age of 70. Even after retiring, he continued to show his love of education by working an additional 5 years as noon duty, and volunteered as teacher's aide. Uncle Moe is survived by his wife, Patricia Auwae, their children Janet (Roberto) and Moke (Kari), one grandchild; Garrett, and four siblings. A rosary service will be held at 6pm on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home; 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, 95678. A memorial service will be held the following day, June 23, 2017 at 4pm, also at Lambert Funeral Home.

I am sorry for your loss. May prayer comfort you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray constantly."

My daughter knew Mr Moe for many years at Laurel Ruff Center. He was kind and caring and the students from 3 - 21 years old loved him. The staff and parents were equally appreciative of him

We learned of Mr. Moe's passing in an interesting way....through his sister-in-law who works at WalMart. Lori was helping us find a specific product when Diane commented on a surgical bandage on Lori's head. Diane shared that her daddy had worked at WalMart from opening until he passed from cancer.

We visited a few minutes, then Lori showed us a funeral folder. We were surprised to see it was Mr Moe's, with that beautiful smile, he looked exactly like 30 years ago.

I call the episode a "Thank you, God" moment. Diane and I want to extend our condolences to the family. You are in our hearts and prayers.

Also, our prayers for Lori's healing....and our gratitude to her for her kindness to us.

Sincerely,
Audrey and Diane Clipp

note to Mr. Moe....Diane and I believe many of the Laurel Ruff teachers, parents and students will be waiting for you in heaven. Billy Harris, Carol Carey, Jeanette Braflaadt, Carolyn Reinholdt, Gary Bankhead, Elaine Willis, Doris Ingram. Have a good reunion!

I am very sorry for your lost. I can imagine how heartbreaking it is to lose a loved one, but its uplifting to know that God promises us in Isaiah 65:17 a near future in which not only we wont feel this horrid pain in our hearts when we lose a loved one, but we wont even remember how it felt.

Where do I begin? Uncle was so endearing and welcoming from the moment I met him. He crept into my heart and embraced me like one of his own. As one of his hanai daughters it was my honor to know him and truly a blessing to be a part of his 'ohana. Love you, Uncle!
