Myrtle KIPPLINGER Obituary

Myrtle B. Kiplinger (Anderson) born June 18, 1924, died April 10, 2016 at the age of 91. Born to a proud Norwegian family she was raised on a farm in Bemidji, Minnesota. She spent the first 18 years of her life with 3 sisters and 2 brothers in a home with no running water or electricity. This would account for perseverance and strength of character. During World War II she as so many other women worked on aircraft in support of our fighting men and women as a "Rosie the Riveter". She would eventually find her way to Sacramento, California where she married Jerry Potter and had two children, Patricia and Dennis. She worked at McClellan Air Force Base, and later married Edwin H. Kiplinger. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, both husbands, both children, and her grandson Joseph. Survived by grandson John Fabretti (Diane), great-grandsons John, Christian, and Matthew, daughter-in-law Nandy, and great-granddaughter Giada. Myrtle was a very active member of the VFW Auxiliary #904, and past president of the Emblem Club. In her later years you could always find her working in her garden, canning fruits or her favorite past time of walking mile after mile after mile in Sunrise Mall. She set all sorts of records for the miles she walked and was very proud of them. She will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Institute for Cancer Research, or to your favorite charity. Service will be at 11am June 4th, Elks Lodge #2248, 3000 Brady Ln, Roseville.
