Nancy Catherine (Whitesides) Yeoman, 78, of San Diego, California, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Nancy was born in Vallejo, California, on November 27, 1946, to the late Edward and Edene (Strickland) Whitesides. She graduated from Saint Vincent's Catholic High School where she learned the virtues of spirit and faith. She was well known by her Class of 1964 and continued serving in her community after high school.
She went on to work in hospital administration and accounting, proudly working as an Assistant Accountant in her father's firm in Vallejo. Meanwhile, she dedicated her life to her family, selflessly getting her boys to school, sports, and countless activities on time in "Mom's Taxi." She also shined for 14 years serving lunches to elementary school students in Gridley, California. She infused family values, gentle guidance, and loving discipline, all while dishing up proper meals at the dinner table every night. Well known for her many recipes, her handwritten Mexican chicken casserole remains a highlight in family cookbooks and continues to be a dinner staple to this day.
Nancy was a nature enthusiast, world traveler, and loved country living. Her love for the outdoors led to memories of green meadows, rivers, lakes, camping, fishing, starry nights, smores by the campfire, and memorable times in mountain cabins. Later in life, Nancy enjoyed hosting gatherings, cooking for everyone in her country kitchen, gardening and caring for her chickens on her farm. She's fondly remembered guiding by The Lord's Prayer and ending every conversation with a smile and a verbal "Amen."
Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Sally, and grand-daughter Alycia "Aly" Yeoman. She is survived by her husband, David, her children David Jr (Paula) Yeoman, Darin (Martine) Yeoman, and Daniel Yeoman, and her sister Susan (Robert "Moe") Morrison. She cherished every one of her grandchildren, Lyle, Brett, Bradley, Sara, Ryan, Melanie, Dean, and 11 great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Sophia, Elliot, Wesley, Leighton, Archer, Adison, Wyatt, Reilly, Peyton, and one on the way. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry on her legacy.
Private services and Celebration of Life will be held with family on a later date. Donations may be given in her name at
