MEYERS, Nicholas Michael
In loving memory of our beloved Nicholas Michael Meyers. Son of Milton, Patricia and Cheryl. Brother of Gabe, Laura and Dana. Born in Sacto., CA, Jan. 15, 1981. Passed away Sept. 9, 2008. He was a fun-loving, warm, sweet and caring young man who truly valued his friends and family. Nick will always be in our memories and in our hearts forever. Nick, you will truly be missed, we love you. The funeral will be on Sun., Sept. 14, 2008 at 12:30pm at Sunset Lawn, 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacto., CA 95838. Contributions can be sent to the Nicholas Meyers Memorial Foundation c/o Congregation Beth Shalom, 4746 El Camino, Carmichael, CA, 95608.

Milt, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain you are feeling. Losing a child must be the greatest hurt that can be inflicted on a parent. I have been thinking about you and your son, and your family every day.
A poem by Longfellow comes to mind when a tragedy like this happens:
“The heart hath its own memory
Like the mind,
And in it are enshrined
The precious keepsakes.”
And another by Flavia:
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go,
Some stay awhile - leave footprints on our hearts,
And we are never, ever the same.”
Grief is how our minds try to heal a hurt this large. Because a child punctuates our lives forever, there is no period at the end of the grief we feel.
