Matthew, We will miss you very much. You were a true friend. We only regret that we didn't spend more time with you, and we regret that we didn't get to know Stephanie. You were so very happy the last time we saw you. We always thought the next time we saw you it would be your wedding not funeral. I know there is a special place in heaven just for you and you are probably already getting the theatre in order. Till we meet again and we know we will, save us a seat, in the front row.

Love always Hans and Wendy

Dear Matthew, You have been taken from our lives way too early and it's so very hard to understand why......why it always seems that 'He' takes the Best ones from us first. I thank you for the times we shared, all the stories we exchanged, and for allowing me into your MacIntosh personal knowledge base. Our hearts and prayers will be with you forever. You are sincerely a true gentleman!

May our deepest sympathy be shared with all the Mahan/Reynen family. To dearest Stephanie and the boys: Please keep the faith and be assured that God will make this up to you somehow. We love you very, very much. David, Patti, Hilari & Cori

I only met Chip once many years ago when he was just a kid, but such a nice kid. He really impressed me. May God comfort his family.

Sincerely,

Bernice Ferwerda

Matthew was one of those friends that you could not see for a year and still feel suprisingly close to. He was a fine actor and a true leader. Though I only shared the stage with him once, it is an experience I will always remember. Matthew, you will be sorely missed here on Earth. - Mikey

Matthew was clearly a special person who touched everyone with whom he came in contact. He was a gentle soul who loved life and viewed it through such artistic eyes. He introduced California to me and shared his incredible family with me. My thoughts and sympathy go out to Stephanie, Laura, Judy, Jenny, John Mahan, John Reynen, Christo, Little John, Andrew, and Ashley. May your memories of Matthew "Chipper" ease your pain and keep him alive always.

I was privileged to perform with Matthew in Reno Little Theater’s production of “We Hold These Truths…” last December and to serve with him on RLT’s board last year. His energy, imagination, and creative drive enlivened performances on stage and stimulated the board’s efforts to return RLT to the first rank of local theater companies…and took us well along the road to doing so. I count myself fortunate to have seen one of his last performances as “Chris” in All My Sons where he compellingly portrayed everything from the wild giddiness of love’s first kiss to the anguish of disappointment in discovering the horrifying failings of a parent. Theater is an art that intensifies our appreciation of life in all its bewildering aspects, and Matthew was an artist whose gifts enabled us to deliver to our community, theater at its very best. Those gifts…his influence…will live on in our memories and be reflected in all we bring of ourselves to the next show…and the next…and the next. God speed, Matthew.
