Ollie Van Obituary

VAN II, Ollie Burnett On Sunday, November 30, 2014, Ollie Burnett Van II passed away. Ollie was born December 12, 1945 in Clarksville, Texas as the second of eleven children born to Ollie Burnett Van, Sr. & Eleanor Van. His family moved to Sacramento, California in 1955, when he was nine years old where he attended school, graduating from Sacramento Senior High School. After attending college for a year, he served in the United States Navy and fought in the Viet Nam War. Ollie is survived by son, Ollie Burnett III and daughters Serena, D'Andrea, Nikki and Nova; and 14 grandchildren Samaiya, Aliya, Davion, and Lailah, Sherry, Seans, Lamont, James, Kiontae, Kejuan, Troy, Christian, Kayla, and Nia. He also leaves behind seven siblings Patsy, Jimmy, Bruce, Robert, Ricky, Danny, and Connie Van; as well as 10 nieces and nephews Starr, James, Camisha, Jemal, Matthashun, Monique, Matthew, Jimmy II, Ricky II, and Celissa. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Eleanor and Ollie Burnett Sr., and siblings Dorothy Boyd, Evelyn Grigsby, and Margaret Ann Van. Ollie will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family and friends. Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California 95620. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Women's Civic Improvement Center, 3555 Third Ave., Sacramento, California 95817.
