Orion Ames Obituary
In Sacramento on June 9, 2004. Mr. Ames is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Ames. Beloved children, Lloyd Donald Ames of Glenco, CA, Ronald John Ames of Nashville, TN, Janet L. Duman of Ukiah, CA, Catherine E. Stroh of Sacramento, CA, Marci D. LaShells of Frederick, MD and Karen LaShells of Sacramento, CA. She leaves numerous cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Ames was a flight engineer stationed in Manduria, Italy during WWII; he was decorated with the Silver Star, two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart. After his return state side he became a self employed logger and lumberman. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, June 18, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Daneri Mortuary, 415 Broadway, Jackson, CA, private inurnment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Ames memory may be made to Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps., PO Box 22297, Sacramento, CA 95822-0297.
