Pam Castleman Obituary
Pam Castleman, 60, of Roseville, CA, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her home. She was born July 24, 1965, in Malvern, AR, to the late James and Shirley (Mabry) Castleman.
She is survived by her two beloved Shih Tzus, Pickles and Pepper; two aunts, Brenda and Carolyn Castleman; special cousins, Roger Rose, Michelle Woods, Johnny Castleman, Judy Nolen, Barbara Cobb, Rodger Glenn Davis and Amanda Kiser; her "adopted second mom" Jennie Lee Stone; and a host of family and friends.
Pam was especially proud of her "babies" she claimed as her own – Dylan, Hunter and Hudson Rose; Clay Kiser; Jake and Abby Woods; and Jack, Avery and Carter Dunkin. Aunt Pam will always hold a special place in their hearts.
Pam was very passionate about education, both for herself and her students. One of Pam's proudest moments in life was in 2013 when she became "Dr. Pam" and graduated with her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at California State University, Northridge. She dedicated her life to serving Jesus and others through the educational field.
Pam was most recently an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Graduate Research and the Coordinator of the MAED program at Jessup University. Prior to her current position, she served as an Education Programs Consultant to the California State Board of Education. In this capacity she advised the State Board of Education in curriculum matters and wrote bill analysis for the Governor. In addition to her role at the State Board of Education, Pam served as an adjunct faculty member at Jessup University for two and one-half years prior to her current full-time position.
Pam is both a former teacher and administrator. She holds teaching and administrative clear credentials in both California and Texas. She taught social sciences and coached cheerleaders in the Mesquite Independent School District (suburban Dallas area). When Pam moved to California in 2001, she accepted an Assistant Principal position in the Simi Valley Unified School District. She served in the capacity of Assistant Principal and Summer School Principal in SVUSD for 12 years until she was promoted to Coordinator of Curriculum and Assessment for the district. In this capacity she organized state assessments. course revisions, and curriculum adoptions. After the success with building career pathways, Pam accepted the position of Director of Continuing Education for the Ventura County Office of Education. In this role, she worked connecting regional employment agencies to adult education programs for students.
Pam recently served on a team revising the State Career Technical Education Plan and was especially interested in research in areas of college and career readiness and building the teacher pipeline.
In addition to education, Pam was especially passionate about genealogy, travel, and spending time with her precious family and friends.
Pam's sweet and sassy personality paired with a Southern accent and genuine care for others will be deeply missed. Pam touched many lives and had a far-reaching impact that will continue to live on. We will deeply miss her infamous "Have I told you today that I love you?"
