Pamela Myczek

1947 - 2025

Pamela (Pam) Antoinette Myczek peacefully passed away on Monday, August 18th. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Anthony Myczek as well as an infant brother Laurence. Pam is survived by her brother Timothy (Tim), several cousins and their families, godchildren and many close friends.

Pam was a lifelong active member and supporter of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She worked for the State of California her whole career before retiring in 2013.

Since 1979 she was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites, an order of lay men and women committed to a life of contemplative prayer and service to others. Her religious name was Maria Josette of the Sacred Heart. She was an inspiration to all of her Carmelite brothers and sisters.

Pam was a UCCE Master Gardener, as well as a Consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society. She was also an active member in the Sacramento Rose Society, Perineal Plant Club, and the River Park Garden Club. She was active in the Sacramento Historic Rose Garden Committee. She devoted many hours to all of these organizations and did it all with love.

She loved to travel and did so extensively throughout the world. She loved visiting the churches and many gardens in every country.

Pam was very devoted to her family and all of her friends, many who were family to her. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1333 58th St., on Friday, September 26, at 10 a.m. followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Parkinson's Association of Northern California, 1024 Iron Point Rd, Ste #1046, Folsom CA 95630 or to the Society for the Blind, 1238 S Street, Sacramento CA 95811. Envelopes for each will also be available at the church.
