Patrick Timmons Obituary

Patrick Timmons was born in Denver, CO on Sep 19, 1963 to Frank and Shirley Timmons. At six weeks old his family moved to Sacramento where he spent most of his childhood. After moving to Susanville, CA, he graduated from Lassen High School in 1981. He continued his education and attended Lassen Community College and Sacramento State University earning a BS in Mathematics, and a Minor in Computer Science.

He met Cheryl Johnson in 1982 and they married in 1983, in Reno. Both were quite young at the time but love, friendship and perseverance prevailed and they celebrated 35 years of marriage in June. They had two children: Corrinne and Caitlin.

In the early 90's, after graduating from CSUS, he moved his family to Harrisburg, PA for a job opportunity with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). A year later EDS transferred Patrick back to California where he spent most of his life in the Sacramento area. He worked in the computer science, project management field for over 20 years, working for EDS, KPMG, and Blue Shield of California.

In addition to his love for family, Patrick had a number of hobbies. He loved old cars and drove his 1994 corvette to work every Friday with the top down and corvette cap on; "Corvette Friday" he referred to it. He spent countless hours researching his family tree, conversing with fellow genealogists and trying to determine "who Abraham Timmons' parents were" (along with other family mysteries). He is likely conversing with Abraham now and meeting all those that came before him.

He loved a good party, throwing his wife a Star Wars Birthday bash in 2017. Although he was just a fair dancer, he LOVED music and supported his grandson Anthony's dream of being a drummer. His daughter, Corrinne, has fond memories of attending concerts with her dad; U2, The Who and Tom Petty.

He was fascinated with science and spent hours reading about the latest technologies and space explorations. He and his daughter, Caitlin, worked to put together a movie library on computer and read sci-fi books together. He would drag everyone outside to view night sky events: meteors, shooting stars, blood moons and planets often making everyone stay up late to get the best show.

He had wonderful friends throughout his life; Johannes and Vineet, who he got together with monthly. His fantasy football buddies that held the tradition for over 25 years ~ his team was the Schmoes. He also had canine friends and would go out of his way to point out and pet any dogs that crossed his path. Jake, his latest rescue dog, made him laugh and was his constant companion.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Corrinne Carrabello (Justin) and Caitlin; grand children, Anthony, Christian, Sofia and Elizabeth, brother, Sean, other extended family, and dog, Jake. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Shirley Timmons, and brother, Jim Westerberg. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, husband, uncle and friend and his absence is sorely felt.

To honor his memory, rescue a pet from the SPCA, spend a night watching a meteor shower, attend a car show, visit the California Railroad Museum or take your grandchildren to the latest Star Wars movie. Take a trip somewhere you've never been, find your 4th Gt. Grand-parents grave, build a computer, join a fantasy football league and above all, find someone to share it with!

The family thanks the Greater Sacramento ALS Association and Snowline Hospice for their commitment to the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Falls Conference Center on Mon, Sep. 10 at 1pm. Internment will be at Roseville Cemetery.

I met Patrick and Cheryl at the ALS Support Group Mettings when my wife, Susan, was also struggling with ALS! Patrick was such an inspiration to all that were privileged to know him! I attended the Star Wars Birthday party he gave for the love of his life, Cheryl, and believe me, Patrick did it up right! RIP my dear friend!! You will be missed more than I could ever put in words! And Cheryl, you took such wonderful care of Patrick as he traveled his journey with ALS! You are one in a million, and I am so honored to call you my friend!
