Paul Ratajczak Obituary

RATAJCZAK, Jr., Paul John
Born on July 14, 1952, Paul entered into rest on April 7, 2008, after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Judy, his daughters Laura, Jennifer and Stacy, and his son-in-law, Fernando. Also survived by his mother, Loretta Ratajczak, brothers Donald (Shari) Ratajczak, James (Lisa) Ratajczak, and Roger (Tricia) Ratajczak, sisters Joan Vierra, Jane (Gary) Miceli, Marcia Ratajczak, and Gloria (Roy) Stratford, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father, Paul Ratajczak Sr. Raised in San Jose, Calif., he relocated to Placer County in 1990 to expand the family business, S&G Carpet and More, where he worked from the age of 16. Paul was a loving family man, a devout Catholic, a hard-working businessman and a loyal friend to many. He loved the San Francisco Giants, poker parties, Dairy Queen Blizzards, the stock market channel, and, most of all, the race track. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 11, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home in Roseville. Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Rocklin. Burial will follow immediately at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento. Funeral reception to follow.

We are so blessed to have had the priviledge of calling Paul (and all his family) our dearest friends. He was a compassionate insightful man, a mentor, teacher, partner, childhood playmate and friend. A companion to many, a friend to all who met him. A well loved and loving son, brother, husband and father. We shall all miss him and his significant presence in our lives.
As time passes, and gently eases your grief, may all the beautiful memories you have of Paul, begin to restore the joy that has been taken from your hearts, and may it help in some small way to know that friends are sharing the sorrow you feel. We will pray for all of you daily, for strength and peace.

I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE ALL OF YOU ARE RIGHT NOW...I RECENTLY WAS THERE AND I KNOW IT IS A DEEP PAIN WITH TRUE SORROW.NOTHING I CAN WRITE CAN EASE YOUR PAIN THOUGH I WISH I COULD DO THAT FOR ALL OF YOU.
THE LOVE AND COMPASSION I RECIEVED FROM S&G IN MY DARKEST HOUR WAS A TRUE REFLECTION OF THE PERSON PAUL WAS...MAY ALL OF YOUR MEMORIES EASE YOUR GRIEF AND KNOW THAT PAUL IS NOW FOREVER IN ALL OF YOUR HEARTS AND IN THE ARMS OF OUR LORD.GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I know Paul's loved ones are missing a special part of their lives. As a business associate I know our industry will greatly miss a man who represented the spirit, the success, the fun, and the dignity that we all strive for. One of the greatest things that can be said is we are all better from his presence. That is the Spirit of Paul Ratajczak that lives within us.

Recently, a mutual friend and I were remembering Paul and the comment was made "that Paul was generous to a fault". We should all be so flawed. Paul's life was a fine example that we'd all do well to emulate.

Although I didn't cross paths that often with Paul, I did enough times to know of his character. It was seen in his eyes that he was truly a man of integrity and sincerity. It was also clear through the often spoken words of respect in his regard that my feeling was on the mark. My deepest condolences to the Ratajczak family on the loss of Paul. Well......hardly loss because I know he will live forever in their hearts. I can just imagine the "slideshow" that will play over and over in the memory bank. Smiles to follow. Lots of them!

Paul was a very luck man to have such a strong and loving family. I believe we are all better people having known him. His kindness, strength of spirit, personal integrity, and good old fashion family values are just a few of the thing that I loved Paul for. I see these same qualities in all his brothers and sisters and mother, not one of whom are afraid of a little hard work and elbow grease. It has been my honor to have worked with for such a GREAT man and family. All my prayers and best wishes.

Judy, Laura, Jen, Stacy & Family,

My heartfelt offer of condolence and comfort to you and your family in the passing of your husband and father. Over the years I've done some floorcovering business with your father and the words that stand out in my mind are fair and respectful. A wonderful model for all to follow.
My father passed from pancreatic cancer when I was 10 weeks old. I'll pass along the message to you that he left for me, ala the "Bad News/Good News" heading.
Bad News: "Wages of Sin is death" (spiritual and physical) Good News:"The gift of God is eternal life" Romans 6:23
He went on to assure me, "that there is NO condemnation, in those who are in Christ Jesus"......None. Romans 8:1
"Absent from the body, present with the Lord" Colossians 2:5 I'm O.K.
His final signature to me was on his grave marker.

"Thy will be done"
Our family prays that the loving arms of the Lord are squeezing you very tightly right now.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
