Paula Norris Obituary

Paula Ming Norris passed peacefully in her sleep in Sacramento, CA on October 16, 2016 at age 91. She was born in Cleveland, OH where she attended school. She married and moved to New York City at the start of the war. In 1950 she put her early ballet training and love of dance to use at the China Doll in New York, and later at the Forbidden City in San Francisco. In 1956 she worked for United Air Lines in group sales, retiring after 32 years there. During her years at United, she traveled the world and became an avid skier. She was a zealous member of the Forty-Niner Faithful. Regretting that she never had the opportunity for higher education, she returned to school at age 56, and received an AA degree in Management Marketing from San Mateo College. Pre-deceased by parents Jessie Wong Ming and Dea Ming, brother Robert, first husband Edward S. Yee, second husband James Norris, and daughter Barbara L. Springer. She is survived by her son, Terry Yee (Stacey Bellis), daughter Donna L. Yee, and grandson Alex Yee. Appreciation and heartfelt thanks go to her caregivers Nia Campbell, Arienne, and Deetra Fields. A Celebration of Life will be held in Belmont, CA in January. Donations can be made in Paula's memory to ACC Senior Services, 7334 Park City Drive, Sacramento CA 95831, or online at www.accsv.org or Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org
