Peter Elko Obituary

ELKO, Peter
Passed away on July 6, 2006, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carole Jean (Mills) Elko; his son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Melisa Elko and their sons Alex and Aidan; and his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Christopher Sympson and their children, Nicholas, Kyla and Casey. Mr. Elko was born in Dupont, Penn., on May 28, 1936, to the late Peter and Mary Elko. He received degrees from Pennsylvania State University and Sacramento State University. Peter was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran, SAC, Crew Chief on a B36 Bomber. Pete was a resident of California for 48 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Higgins Diggins Lions Club, Auburn Elks. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, at St. Mel's Catholic Church in Fair Oaks, Calif. Interment to follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery. The family suggests donations to St. Mel's Catholic Church in Fair Oaks, CA, the American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers. COCHRANE'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES in Roseville, Calif., is handling arrangements.
