McCARTER, PETER YOUNG
Passed away peacefully a week after celebrating his 81st birthday on July 18, 2002. A native of Vancouver, British Columbia he was a resident of Sacramento for the past 55 years. He is survived by his daughter, Lori McCarter Curry, his special friend Maxine Sewald, sisters Jean Rawkins, Evelyn Lewis, Ellen McFadden, Elizabeth (Libby) Brown and previous wife Mary McCarter as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Anna Margaret Logan and William Shepherd McCarter as well as his sister Anna Grant. During WWII he was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He retired after a successful 47 year career as a State Farm Insurance agent. During those years he was a member of the Sacramento Association of Life Underwriters. An avid golfer, Pete loved the game and played as often as possible before and after retiring from the insurance business. He was a charter member of the Ancil Hoffman Men's Golf Club. A memorial service celebrating Pete's life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 2140 Mission Avenue, Carmichael, CA.
