November 20, 1923 - October 2, 2021
Galt, California - It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family of Rachel Nardico announce her passing on October 2, 2021 at the age of 97.
Born on November 20, 1923 in Los Angeles California to Rev. Juan & Eliza Mendoza. Rachel Mendoza moved to Sacramento in the 1930s where she attended and graduated from Sacramento High School.
Rachel married Fredrick Espinoza. They had two daughters Ann Hammonds and Helen Galindo. She proudly helped support her family during World War II while working at Purita Sausage Meat Packing Co. where she retired after 20 years.
In 1968 she met and married the love of her life Daniel R. Nardico aka" Mr. D" They lived in Carson City, Nevada for 20 years. After her husband retired they built a home in Cool, California where she enjoyed working in her yard, reading, spending time with her family and her beloved fur babies.
Rachel is preceded in death by her husband Daniel R. Nardico, Daughter Ann Hammonds, Stepson Danny Bruce Nardico, Grandson Johnny Galindo and her beloved dog Chelsea.
She will be missed dearly by her Daughter Helen Galindo, Stepdaughter Danielle Plum and her many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, as well as, her dog Chocolate.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Viewing on October 27th from 3-6PM and her Graveside on October 28th at 10AM both at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 4701 Marysville Blvd Sacramento CA 95838.
