DeHERRERA, Raymond
It is with deep sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother and friend on August 15, 2010. Born on August 3, 1951 to Andres and Esther DeHerrera, he leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Gina, son, Lucas, daughters, Char & Annaliese, grandchildren, Aleena, J.C. and Angelo as well as brothers Andres Jr., Jeremiah, Eugene, William, Edward, Fredrick, Michael, and Timothy. He spent 40 years of his life working in commercial construction for the union, while simultaneously lending his talents to friends and family who needed help with their own ventures. Our husband and father took the simple house we bought 25 years ago, and by his own hands developed it into the beautiful home we share today. He was a man who worked endlessly to support his family, and up until the day of his passing never wasted a moment because there was always something to be done. He found joy in the outdoors, because he felt this world was simply too beautiful to be spent inside. He will be missed tremendously. Words cannot describe the deep respect and love we feel for this amazing man. Family and friends are invited for a visitation on Tuesday August 24, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at NICOLETTI, CULJIS & HERBERGER Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Interment St. Marys Cemetery.

Raymond...I speak to your spirit daily and every time I see your picture. I still can't believe you are really gone. I feel kind of foolish writing this because I have a better relationship with your strengthening spirit. But I happen to be on the internet. As you know (spiritually), I tried to help you get up in the Hospital Emergency Room...you only looked like you were either passed out or asleep. As you know I am crying right now. I love you brother.

Ray,as I was reflecting on things this past weekend I ran across the pictures of the time you,Jerry,Eddie and Tim picked me up in Reno to go to the cabin.What a time that was.We made menudo and had to use cow hooves cause the store didn't have pigs feet.We couldn't find you in the casino cause you were crashed in your car out in the parking lot.Your memories are always with me just as your spirit is primo.Love you and miss you!

Ray, as I spoke of in the note I wrote for you. You gave me so much pleasure in my life, especially in my late teens(you always remember this time of your life). When a lot of us really didn't know how to express love or even knew what love was, you had and gave that gift of pure and unconditional love to all. Your are a perfect example of a gentle sole, gentlemen, the kind of person everyone wants to be around, dance with and party with too. Unfortunately, this world we live in will be forever changed without you. I want to thank you & Gina for making a great difference in my life. You will always be a permanant fixture in my heart. Ray, Sugar Ray, Turkey, you are one of the most loving, kind, and good human being that I know. You were my friend, my cousin and like a brother that took care of me on many occasions, thank you! Gina and the DeHerrera family, I was truly heart broken when Tony told me of Raymond's passing. I've know Raymond for over 30 years, he was considered family along with his brother Jerry/Sue. The last time I saw Raymond was at the flea market, always looking for a good deal. I will hold on to the memories and remember the good times. I pray that Our Lord Jesus Christ comfort you and your loved ones during this time.

Raymond I just want to let you know you are the best ever. You always had a peaceful smile and lots of hugs for everyone. And always positive advice. We are going to miss you dearly. I will never forget the camping trip we took to Bear river, when lucas was lost, how long it took to find him. Than when you had to make that phone call to Gina before the 5:00 news came on and tell her you had some bad news and great news too. That was a really scary time but it all turned out good, thanks to God.
We deinitely have a fabulous Angel looking down upon us now. Raymond I love you and will miss you until we meet again. My M & M Girls will also miss you. Raymond you have and will remain special in my heart forever.

Ray was a person whom I have looked up to for a very long time. He always seemed to be the voice of reason and had a calming effect on people. I'm so sorry about your Dad/Grandpa. I won't forget how proud he was that day in the park when Elena was doing that dance. Forgive me for not remembering the exact name of the event but I remember he invited Mike & I to come see her dance. He got a kick out of "bubba" when we went camping that time riding his bike riding up and down the hill scaring me to death. You were pregnant w/Angelo at that time and he was excited about you having another boy. I know you have many memories and I hope they will comfort you. Raymond, you can't imagine, just how much your family, brothers & friends are going to miss you. But their memories of all the wonderful times you shared with them will help get them through. I personally will miss, your smile & the camping trips and how you always asked me "how are you doing and about my daughter & grandson.
