ATTEBERY, Robert Henderson
On March 26, 2012, Bob Attebery - aka Daddy, Rambob, Paw, Granpaw - went home to Heaven, rejoining his beautiful wife. Born November 11, 1945 in Pomona, CA, Bob leaves behind his children Gerilyn (Nate), Mark (Jen), Becky Rice and husband Greg, grand-daughters Emily and Annabelle, and a grandson on the way. He is survived by his mother Mary Jane Nichols, brothers Carl and Donald, sisters Carol MacDonald and Betty Hurtado, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by beloved wife Glenda Sipma Attebery and his father Benjamin Henderson Attebery. Bob loved to work with his hands, always starting a new project and solving problems. He loved to make people laugh and to love on his children and grandchildren to whom he devoted his all. He was H.S. Student Body President, lettered in Varsity Sports, proudly served his country in Germany during the Vietnam Era, earned a B.S. at Cal Poly University Pomona, and had a successful career in Plant Management and Sales. In retirement, he tinkered on old Chevy's, spoiling his kids with muscle cars, cruised his boats in the Bay, and surrounded himself in the love of his expanding family. With his strength, sacrifice, and love, he touched many lives, helping in difficult times, and himself overcame great hardships. He will be deeply missed, but our loss is certainly Heaven's gain! Bob was a great friend to me, and to my family. He guided us kindly in the days following my father's death - and I will never forget this.
He also shared the gift of laughter.
I will always remember Bob.

Bob was a rock for so many of us. Because of his strength and tenacity, many of us thought he would always be there. My heart goes out to his family and the children he so beautifully raised after his beloved wife died. The love shared within his family is eternal and those bonds, never broken. I hope his new grandson will hold within him, many of Bob's attributes. It is unfortunate, not everyone had the pleasure of knowing or recognizing all of his dimensions and greatness. He was a complex man but a good man. He stood in his integrity and did what he felt was right, against all odds. He was a good friend. I miss him and feel a great loss with his passing. “Death is not extinguishing the light but putting out the candle because the dawn has come”.

A good friend of mine is missed with Bob's passing. Bob was a close friend that shared many different things in LIFE that we both cared about and fought for.

I only spent a few memorable times with Bob, but I know he was a great father as his son Mark and I were roommates for almost 2 years. In that time I got to meet the other siblings and could see all the great influance Bob thier father had on them. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.
