Robert Boemer Obituary

Born in East St. Louis, Mo., to Walter and Isabelle Boemer into a large family of aunts, uncles cousins and one sibling, brother Roy Boemer. Robert transitioned peacefully and quietly at age 96, surrounded by family in his home. Preceded in death by loving and committed wife Lois Purcell-Boemer, sons Steven and Mark, brother Roy, and grandson Scott Joseph. Survived by and remembered always by children Christine, Eric (Marsha), Nancy (Michael Summers) and Robert Jr., grandsons Ryan Boemer and Michael Judd. After accelerated officers training Robert served his country as communications Captain in the Army Air Corps flying multiple missions in the Asiatic theater. After military service Robert began a career in heating and air conditioning industry and met his future wife while on the road working for them. He began a partnership business HAPSCO-heating-air condition-plumbing-supply-company for over 35 years. An avid tennis player Robert was a constant presence at Sutter Lawn Tennis Club for all family activities. Robert retired at age 65 and continued playing tennis, golfing; often with Lois. He took up cross country skiing and enjoyed the family home in Lake Tahoe, CA. An enthusiastic hunter he could be found with faithful yellow lab companions. Robert loved his yard and swimming pool always bringing family and friends together for BBQ's, fresh tomato sampling and friendly pool volleyball match for newcomers willing to play. My deepest sympathies go out to the Boemer family. I randomly think about him weekly, and the many great times him and I had together. He will forever live in my heart. I am sad to have lost such a wonderful human from this world, but I am happy to know he is at peace with God and your beautiful mom.
