Robert Capel Obituary

CAPEL, Sr., Robert E. ''Bob''
Robert E. Capel Sr. passed away on October 15, 2006 after a short courageous battle with cancer at the young age of 51. Robert was born in Truckee on October 24, 1954 and he is preceded in death by his mother Eleanor, father Paul, and his brother David. Robert is survived by his loving wife Beverly, and his children Paul (Heather) Capel, Robert Jr. (Lynette) Capel, Doug Gongaware, Patricia Davis, DeAnna (Shawn) Kennedy and David (Stefani) Blake. He is also survived by his grandchildren Hunter, Tyler, Krysten, Kayley, Robert III, Nikolai, Brooke, Alex, Trevor, Carl, Laura, David, Carolynne, and Elizabeth. Robert was a family man who knew how to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life. In his younger days, Robert was an avid welder. Later in life, he was known as the 'sign guy' for Yolo County Public Works. He was also an enthusiastic 4-wheeler and Robert and Bev could often be found enjoying the outdoors by making the trek from Wentworth Springs to Tahoe on the Rubicon. Robert enjoyed hearing his grandchildren laugh and was known as the family 'tickle monster'. Robert was a perfect husband, an amazing father, a fun loving Grandpa, and a great person. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and co-workers. Funeral services will be held this Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3 pm at the River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule St. in West Sacramento. A celebration of Robert's life will continue at the VFW hall across the street following the services.

Hi Honey,
I am still missing you as always. I have made a few changes at the old homestead, removed the fruit trees, it became to much work for me, had new sod laid and now it looks beautiful. I am now in the process of remodeling the guest bathroom; I had the tub removed and now adding just a shower. I hope you approve. Please give my love to our family members you are with. Hello, first I want to say I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not sure this was the "Robbie" I knew and hung out with in high school (Yolo High), if so he was a great part of my teenage life. Hi Honey, well I finally did it..I sold the Jeep to Eli...He will pick it up Thursday. I felt bad that it sat all the time and was getting expensive for me to continue to pay insurance as well as the up keep, plus I am getting to old to climb in and out of it. I have many reasons which I find valid for my decision. I hope you understand. I thought you would since you did tell me to sell it and at that time I could not do so, maybe I am finally healing from my loss of you. I love you and miss you.

I am really missing you tonight, I watched your video and all it does is make me cry, after watching it, I realized I just passed up a chance to be with you again, and that makes me cry more.. The last 5 years have felt like a lifetime of sorrow, you are so missed, so very much.. Hope you are spending time with our parents. I still make Paul a lunch when I can wake up on time, and he is always supportive of me which I do appreciate. I am still working at EGUC and still unsure of its longevitity, I am hoping I can retire from there. All your grandkids are doing well, you would be proud of them all. You will have a new grandaughter in December due date is the 27th, you know I am hoping for the 28th..wonder why lol. The Jeep is still with me, and probally always will be. Happy Thanksgiving, I hope you had a great meal with the family. Hello Honey, well in most cases I would say Happy Anniversary, but I don't find anything happy about the day or the last 2 years as far as that goes. I still think of you daily, and I am sure I always will. When I speak of you I still get tears and this is daily as well. The family is doing well, Patty and DeAnna have a few issues to work though and I am sure they will. I still make Paul a lunch, and Doug is still working for FPI. Robert, Lynette and the kids are doing great. Hunter is playing soccer this year and has improved since his first game, it is fun to watch the small kids play. I have changed employment, yes that's right I no longer work with Dr. K, I do the billing for him and that is it. I don't miss all the hassles of his office, but I do miss the Patients. Hello Honey, Been a while hasn't it? Sometimes this is not an easy task, I think today is a good day to write. Doug, Patty, DeAnna, Shawn, Don, and myself went to Lynard Skynard concert last night in celebration of Doug's birthday. Lynard rocked as always. I drove your Jeep there, thought it was the next best thing, since you weren't. We were all a little emotional when Simple Man was played, such a sincere tune, I love it as you did. Doug said Pop's is here with us, and that was comforting. Patty is doing somewhat better, she has her good days and bad days. DeAnna is beautiful, and Doug is doing great and happy. Roby Jr is playing the all stars this year, and his father (Robert) sits and watches proudly. I still prepare Pauls breakfast and lunch, he is doing great. Kayley is our new self proclaimed tomboy princess. She wants to play as many sports as she can. Her team won 3rd place in the regular season, and 1st place in a post season tournament. Kayley did pretty good. She had a great time playing. She loved it. She wants to play tennis next. We love you and miss you very much. Happy Easter, We had a very nice one this year. I prepared a small dinner for Doug Patty and I (ham and fixings) my glaze turn out great for a change. I did see all the Grandkids minus Brooke, Alex and Trevor. Patty decorated eggs and placed them thoughout the back yard and Hunter and Tyler had an easter egg hunt here it was cute.
