I worked as an intern in Sen. Boxer's office during the summer of 2001 and Robert was one of the best people I could ever hope to meet, let alone work with. He was my boss but even from my very first day, he never made me feel like I was just the intern, it was like we were old friends. He made coming to work fun and interesting. I still tell people about those afternoons sitting in the office talking politics, making fun of Fox News or taking a quick trip to the mall for a fresh box of protein bars (blueberry of course). He had an energy for life that was infectious and he will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences go out to his family and I know he's in a much better place now.

Robert and I became friends during aerobics classes at 24 Hour Fitness! We used to have long talks about politics. He was always so warm and friendly, he had tons of energy, always had a great big smile, and he went out of his way to get to know people in class. I missed him after he quit coming and thought about him often. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May God bless you all and keep you close during your time of grief.
