Robert Needles

1929 - 2026

Robert Gene Needles passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2026 at the age of 96 surrounded by his family. Robert was a longtime resident of Sacramento and Rocklin, and early in his career with Eastman Kodak, he resided in Bellevue, Washington and Walnut Creek, California. Born on November 17, 1929 in Bisbee Arizona, Robert lived a long and meaningful life defined by his dedication to family, hard work and kindness to others.



Robert's service in the Navy, his community involvement, a keen mind and pure drive gave him the blueprint for success in business. He was an entrepreneur most of his life and took great pride in the business he and his son built together, Visual Graphics. Outside of work, his passion was growing tomatoes, traveling and volunteering. He was also known for his storytelling.



Family was the center of Robert's life. He is survived by his wife Josephine of 72 years, his daughter, Laurelle Steele and he was preceded in death by his son, Marc. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his beloved Maltese, Mya.



Throughout his life, Robert touched the lives of many with his generosity and steady presence. He will be remembered for his legacy of love and inspiration that will continue through the generations of family and friends who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.



The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Sutter Health Hospice for their compassionate care and support of Robert and our family. A private interment will take place at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
