CARON, Roger 'Papa' Allan
Born Jan 13, 1933 in Bismark, North Dakota passed away peacefully on May 31 in Fair Oaks, California. He grew up in Salinas, CA where he was known as a 'little Fred Astaire' because he was an avid trumpet player and whistler. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Sue; daughter Jan Long (Brad), son Rick (DeAnna); brother Vern Caron; grandsons Jerrett Ryan and Kyle; great-grandsons Jaden, Kellan, Connor, and Austin.

'Papa' worked at Downtown Ford for many years before opening his own service center: Caron's Service Center, where he worked side by side with his son Rick for many years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 3pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201, Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA with a reception to follow. Donations and/or flowers can be made in Roger's memory to the Childhood Leukemia Foundation.

It is sad news to hear that such a great man has passed on. I remember when Roger & Sue would come into the Golden Tee on Saturdays for lunch, what a delight. I always enjoyed talking with both of them and have continued to keep them in my thoughts. My thoughts and Prayers are with the entire Caron family.

So sorry to hear of Roger's passing. I lived a block from him in Salinas, CA, and went our last year in high school together. We are all getting to that stage in our lives now. I wish I could have seen more of him while here in the Sacramento area.
