Roger RUBY Obituary
RUBY, Roger Jay
Passed away at age 61 at UC Davis Hospital on Saturday night, June 8 after a valiant five-week battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his son, Ben (partner Rob), his brother, Tom (wife Lois), his sister, Pat (husband Pekka), and long-time friend, Elizabeth Reilly. He is survived as well by his father, Burton Ruby (wife June), his other children, Brooke and Andre, and close friends Christine and Shannon Holdeman, and adoring aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and countless friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Helene Catz.
Roger was born in Michigan City, Indiana, on July 17, 1951. For the last 13 years he has resided in the Folsom-El Dorado Hills communities where he ran a successful videography business. Theatre groups, dance companies, art galleries, drama departments at high schools, churches and synagogues - all of them appreciated his talents and professional dedication, and all his clients became part of his entourage of friends. He was a prime mover in resuscitating Channel 2 in Placerville, another setting where he collected more admirers.
Roger's memorial service will take place on at 11 am on Wednesday, at Congregation Beth Shalom, 4746 El Camino, Carmichael.

Roger, I only knew you for the last 7 weeks of your life but you are someone who I will remember forever. In the short time I knew you, I got to learn of your wonderful personality and your love of theatre, videography and of course – Star Trek. You were a kind soul and will be missed by many!
