Ronald Page Obituary

PAGE, Ronald W.
Born "3-30-30" in Spokane, died in Sacramento 15 July, 2004 of acute leukemia. Ron lived his early years in Tacoma, graduated from Washington State University in Pullman with a degree in Geology, followed by graduate work at the University of Oregon, Eugene. Ron retired in 1986 after 33 years with the Federal Government, mainly the U.S. Geological Survey, for whom he worked as a ground-water hydrologist throughout California. He authored, among others, "Geology of the Fresh Ground-Water Basin of the Central Valley", "Geology, Hydrology and Water Quality in the Fresno Area" and he wrote the first Predictive Digital Groundwater Model for Modesto for use as an aid to future growth of the city. From 1986 to 1996, Ron worked with the California State Water Resources Board. He is survived by his wife, Mary-Gene, son Garrett, daughter-in-law Kay and grandchildren Anthony and Emma. He was a kind and thoughtful gentleman, honest and ethical, who loved his home and family and was dearly loved by them. There will be no services; family and friends are invited to gather in his memory at his home in Fair Oaks, Friday, 23 July, from 5 to 8 PM.
