Rosalie Saunders Obituary

Rosalie (Mezzanares) Saunders passed away peacefully on December 11, 2015 in Genoa, Nevada at the age of 93. Mrs. Saunders was born May 31, 1922 in Sacramento to Thomas and Callia Mezzanares. A native of Sacramento she attended Sacramento High School, class of 1939, Sacramento City College and Margret Place Secretarial School. She worked for many years for Kaiser Permanente in the Bay Aea. After she retired, she and Mr. Saunders relocated to Genoa, Nevada where she was active in community affairs, did volunteer work as a docent at the Genoa Museum, as well as serving on committees for their annual Candy Dance. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Frank Curry Saunders, her mother and father, and her brother, Joseph Mezzanares. She is survived by daughter, Rosalee "Jo" Saunders of Alameda, CA; daughter, Robyn Jo Saunders, son-in-law. Patrick Sweeney of Gardnerville, NV and her granddaughter and husband, Corinne Ann Schmitt and Henry Schmitt of San Leandro, CA. She was an inspiration to her children, and she was loved by her family who will miss her very much.

My deepest condolences for Rosalie's family. She was a good neighbor and she and Frank were good friends with my parents. I have missed seeing her sitting on her front porch in the mornings and evenings. I miss her. - Brooke Woellner
