Roy EHRHARDT Obituary

EHRHARDT, Roy S.
Born June 14, 1920 in Cleveland, OH, passed away at his home of 39 years in Sacramento County on October 5, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Joan H. Ehrhardt. He is also survived by his siblings George Ehrhardt and Eugenie Bundy, his five children David, Michele, Pamela, Susan, and Charles, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-granddaughters. Roy is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ethel Ehrhardt and 4 siblings Dolly, Ray, Floyd, and June. Roy was proudly


enlisted in the U.S. Army from January 1942 until October 1945. Roy served in the Big Red One Combat Infantry. He received many medals for his service and bravery including a Bronze Star, three Purple Hearts, and a Croix de Guerre among others. After serving his country, Roy was a lay speaker for the Methodist Church for 15 years. A short military funeral service will be held October 21, 2011 at 11:30am at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. The cemetery is located at 5810 Midway Road in Dixon, CA. All are welcome, but seating is limited to family. A church memorial service will follow at 3pm at the Elverta Methodist Church located at 7861 Elmont Avenue in Elverta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations are given to The Disabled American Veterans charity trust.
