Sakaye Hamamoto Obituary

HAMAMOTO, Sakaye
Passed away peacefully on January 17, 2008, in Roseville, Calif., at the age of 90 He was born on March 2, 1917, in Fresno, Calif. He was a longtime resident in the Placer County area and a successful fruit farmer, in the Loomis Area for approximately 70 years. He was a graduate of Placer Union High School and was a member of the Placer Buddhist Church. Sakaye is survived by his brothers Goichi Hamamoto (Alice), Yutaka Hamamoto, Max Hamamoto (Sumiye), Harry Hamamoto (Sally), and George Hamamoto, sister Toshiko Masaki (Muneo), sister-in-law Emily Hamamoto and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gosaichi and Shizuno Hamamoto, brothers Takeshi, Kazuo, and Tom, and sisters-in-law Harriet and Kiyoko. He was a kind and caring brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed by everyone who knew him. A private memorial service was held at his request on January 24, 2008, at the Placer Buddhist Church.
